I've gotten things to the point of where the menus show up, I can control motors, and such. I am running Marlin 2.0 on a SKR 1.1 board with TMC 2208 drivers and a RepRap 12864 Full Graphic Smart Controller, which has a built in SD card reader.
I just tested your configs on Marlin 2.1.2.1 on my stock RAMPS 1..4 with REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER. SD card detects and reads fine
