The Microchip Codes and guitar Serial Numbers should be published and made available to guitar traders. I'm watching the Gibson factory tour and the guide says every Gibson gets a RFID chip under the fretboard to track its progress through factory. This is probably to make sure they don't walk out the back door. Does it mean Gibson can track my guitar after it leaves the factory? I'm fairly sure that Gibson has been inserting RF tags into their guitars for a number of years to track them through the factory (kind of like a micro version of what retail clothing stores use).
