I ended up buying something called a TickTalk 4 which is a kids smart watch that accepts a typical SIM card. I was under the impression that I can just insert this extra SIM I have (with a unique number) and it would work.
Metro doesnt take anything other than the IMEI or the ICCID for the sim card. There is no other info you can give that would connect a device to a line.
